The hotel's buildings were designed by Antonio Palacios, who became famous after also designing the Palacio de Comunicaciones and the Círculo de Bellas Artes in Madrid. He is regarded as one of the most important figures in Spanish architecture in the first half of the 20th century.The rustic-style La Central restaurant serves seafood caught in the local rias, as well as fresh local meats.This unique hotel beside the River Tambre is housed in a former power station. Before the power station, the site was occupied by a Cistercian monastery, at one point one of the most important in the region.
