[di più]The museum is located in the Karaköy district of Istanbul. The Jewish community has long been established in the city and the museum was originally used as a synagogue. It was built in 1671.
After the building fell into disuse, the Kamhi Family donated finances to support the museum which opened to the public in 2001. The museum includes exhibitions about Jewish life and history and the historical interaction between Jewish and Muslim communities. There is also a gift shop.
The museum is open from Tuesday to Sunday inclusive at the following times
Mondays to Thursdays : 10:00 - 16:00
Friday and Sunday: 10:00 - 14:00
The museum will be not open in Saturdays and Religious Holidays.
