Great Palace Mosaic Museum
The area called Mosaic Museum is located in Sultanahmet Square just opposite the Hagia Sophia Museum. Inside the Arasta Bazaar which is at the backside of Sultanahmet Mosque (Blue Mosque) and which was constructed with the aim of covering the expenses of the mosque out of the rents, there is the Mosaic Museum where the mosaics dating the 4th and 6th centuries and exhibited.
I have been writing many times before about Sultanahmet Square but i try to write again. The area is really touristic with nice museums, art galleries and historical places. Also the area all the times heart of city and in this times also so many government building stayed in here. So coming there really easy there is many bosses go there or pass from the side. Also there is a tramway system that like a metro that you can use it if you like to visit there. The museum is open daily (except Tuesdays) between 9 am and 5.30 pm. I really have no idea about the entrance fee because i have visited there when i was 5 years old. if you like mosaics really much you will never forget there because they are all really beautiful. They are mainly about hunting , mythological scenes, games, wild animals picture and daily events. I remember some mosaics that one of them about two young men tried to kill a lion. And an elephant was under attack by a lion. I really like elephants so i felt really unhappy to see this.
Well for this area i will say only this thing. In the gift shop you can find nice postcards of mosaics that really amazing.
Take enjoy
