[di più]The Asiyan Museum is situated on a ridge beneath the Rumeli Fortress. The building the museum is located in belonged to the well known Turkish poet and artist Tevfik Fikret and it is believed that he has built the house himself in 1906.
One floor of the museum is dedicated to the memory of Tevfik Fikret and showcases some of his personal belongings and works of art.
The rest of the exhibition shows photographs, memorabilia and paintings by Abdulhak Hamit Tarhan (poet), Nigar Hanim (first female poet in Turkish literature), the last Caliph Abdulmecid and the literary movement Edebiyat-i Cedide.
The museum is open daily, except Mondays and Thursdays, 09:00-17:00.
Admisssion is free.
