[di più]Adam Mickiewicz, a Polish romantic and playwright, came to Istanbul after being jailed in Poland and then exiled to Russia. He spend the last years of his life in a house in the area of Tarlabasi. In 1955 the house was turned into a museum to commemorate the 100th anniversary of his death. Visitors can see documents and information about his life. Further items on display include photgraphs of Istanbul at the time as well as documents of the Polish Liberation struggle.
In the basement of the house is a symbolic grave of the writer.
Open daily between 09:00-16:00, except on Mondays
