ORTAKÖY MOSQUE
At the beginning of July my friend from Finland has told me about to coming Istanbul. I was extremely happy to hear that cause we have not meet yet personally and she is really interested in Turkish Culture. I invite her to stay at my home but she had already found a hotel. Thats why we finally taught about meeting in Ortaköy where is one of the most vivid districts of the Bosporus and is an obvious indicator of the tolerance for other religions. Because in Ortaköy you can find a mosque, a synagogue and a Greek Orthodox Church share the same district. I really would like to visit in Ortaköy because i like being in there and most of times i and my friends have meet this lovely area. There is many nice area for getting nice times.
I would like to tell about firstly Ortaköy Mosque where is located at the Ortaköy Square. If we start from its history it was built in 1853 by architect Garabet Amira Balyan and Nigo&287;ayos Balyan. The mosque was ordered by the Ottoman Sultan Abdülmecid who had ordered many palaces, mosques, churches and some other buildings. He liked new things that is why he wanted architect to mosque -Baroque style. Thats why the mosque seems really different from the other buildings of Istanbul. The mosque is still used for praying.
To arrived there really easy because Ortaköy is one of touristic centre in Istanbul. There are many buses which are passed on near Ortaköy Mosque. But I am strongly offer that you should go there by walking. Because the area is historical and while you are walking you can see many nice points. I always go there by walking from Taksim. Yes it will make so much tired but after the trip you can understand me why I offer this.
To visiting mosque the mosque is still used for praying so you can visit all the times expect praying times. And there is no fee for visiting there. While you are entering the mosque you feel really fresh and a bit puzzled cause the miniatures are all from Islamic culture but the building seems that like a church. The mosque has really beautiful miniatures and really nice carpets which are coming from Hereke where is really famous for carpets.
After visiting museum you can enjoy on the cafes which are really near the mosque and seaside or just watching awesome view of Istanbul.
The mosque is one of symbol of Istanbul where there is so much fun. I know that everyone who come Istanbul will visit there. So I think that there is no reason for telling about there with spending many times.
