The panoramic view of the lush green hills and the Kanchenjunga in the background, inspired him to paint for hours in the gardens of The Nor-Khill. The Nor-Khill in Sikkimese means 'House of Jewels'. Jewels of Sikkim relates to its mountains, its people, its flora and fauna and its animals and fruits. This Nor-Khill was built by the King of Sikkim in 1932 as his Royal Guest House where he received and entertained Heads of States and dignitaries. Today the 4800 sq ft Function Room is the imposing lobby of the oldest heritage hotel in Gangtok. The heritage building still hosts all important visitors to the capital of Sikkim.
