[di più]Crocosaurus Cove is a newly-opened theme park in Darwin. The park boasts some of the largest saltwater crocodiles in captivity on display, as well as the largest exhibition of Australian reptiles and many reptiles from around the world which includes turtles, snakes and lizards. In addition the park features a large aquarium which showcases more than 200 fish species of Australian fresh waters. There is also an exhibition of Aboriginal Art and culture.
The park’s greatest attraction is the Cage of Death, a 4-cm-thick acrylic tank which allows visitors to submerge safely into a pool of crocodiles including an 18 Foot saltwater crocodile called Choppa. Among other popular occupants of the park is Burt, a crocodile famous for his role in Crocodile Dundee. In addition, the park also features seven crocodile enclosures with underwater viewing windows. One of the enclosures has a swimming area next to the window so visitors can experience a swim with the crocodiles.
There is a café, a theatre and souvenir shop in the park at visitors’ disposal.
The Crocosaurus Cove is open everyday (except Christmas) from 8:00am to 8:00pm
