These are located at Hove Lawns and West Street and have achieved their Blue Flag status for water quality and safe bathing. The West Beach area is located close to the pier and includes the King's Arches where there are numerous shops, café's and amusements.
A flat promenade and cycle path runs along the full length of the beach. The area close to the Marina is a designated nudist beach.
Brighton's beach is often affectionately referred to as "London by the sea" due to its popularity with visitors from London.
