The tower is constructed of pink granite and limestone, and features limestone figures at each corner and a mosaic on each of its sides. The four mosaics are of Queen Victoria, Prince Albert and the Prince and Princes of Wales. At the top of the structure there is a golden orb that originally rose to the top of the pole every hour before crashing back down but this was disabled as it was causing damage to the tower.
The Clock Tower is strategically located at the crossroads of Queens Road and the Quadrant.
