[di più]Opened in 1878 the Winter Gardens originally had just an opera house and palm garden but over the years it has been extended and now houses 12 theatres which are used for shows, various private function and exhibitions. The 2 main halls are the Opera House with seating for 3000, this has played host to such stars as Frank Sinatra, Shirley Bassey and Peter Kay and the Empress Ballroom which has been used for pop concerts and party conferences.
