The park contains a lake, several different types of gardens, various habitats for wildlife, a clock tower and conservatories.
Recreational facilities include a sports centre, football, cricket, tennis, bowling and a 18 hole golf course.
The park has been recognised as a 'great historic significance' and was placed on the National Register of Historic Parks and Gardens in 1995 (Grade II).
