[di più]This UNESCO World Heritage Site in North Wales incorporates four different castles at Beaumaris, Caernarfon, Conwy and Harlech. They were largely built during the 13th century and were collectively inscribed into UNESCO in 1986.
Built as defences during the reign of King Edward 1 they were designed by James of St George, a prominent military engineer of that time and today are remarkably well-preserved.
Separate admission fees exist for each castle although access onto many of the castle walls that surround the towns are free.
