Welcome to Augsburg and to the Dom Hotel. This leaflet is intended to show you just how much you will enjoy being our guest here and how to make your stay with us memorable. Our hotel is very special in many respects, not only because of its remarkably peaceful location right in the heart of the city. Our hotel has a long history. ( The Romans settled here, in Germany's second oldest city, on the site of the present day Dom Hotel. ) Most of all however, you are sure to enjoy the stayle and service of a modern, family run hotel where we have been privileged to welcome our guests for four generations.
When you arrive at our peaceful and elegant hotel, you will immediately feel at home. The Dom Hotel is a family business. You will notice the difference immediately - perhaps in the many loving details and in all the "little things" which await you at reception and which show you just how important you are as our guest. The chestnut tree in front of the entrance, the flowers in the window boxes, the bright and friendly design of the modern foyer, where you arrive via the historic entrance doors, the beautifully designed staircase... All this provides a warm welcome and from the very first moment you think "I feel quite at home here!".
Other places may be very exclusive or terribly extravagant. In the dom Hotel you will simply enter a very nice und very pleasant atmosphere. Guests who have visited us once, come again. In the history of the previous building, where our hotel now stands, the Habsburg Emperor Maximilian I came to stay and this of course sets for us the standards of style and comfort. The present day hotel stands on the site of the former Cathedral Presbytery. A memorial tablet and an artistic work of Gothic stonemasonry in the entrance area provide evidence of the long history of this cathedral quarter and our building itself. We are sure that you will enjoy the magnificent view of the Augsburg Cathedral which can be seen from many of our rooms and also from our Breakfast Patio, together with the historical reminiscences and the stylish architecture of the building itself.
In the Dom Hotel, you are not just a customer but you are our guest. The friendly service we provide is intended to make your stay as agreeable as possible. You will appreciate the quality of our rooms which we take great care of. You will also enjoy the quality of service which begins the moment you get up - in the Breakfast Room or in summer on our levely patio which although surrounded with high chestnut trees, still allows you an undisturbed view of the medieval towers of the cathedral which is only a few steps away. Many guests also enjoy using our in-house swimming pool. The fitness center with sauna and sun beds is right next dorr. Every room of course has a TV, mini bar, safe, telephone and free of charge W-Lan.
The Dom Hotel is situated close to the city centre but our location is nevertheless set apart and in a peaceful environment where you can sleep undisturbed by traffic noise, even in the middle of a large city. The Dom Hotel has generously proportioned single rooms, double rooms and suites available. All rooms are of course with en-suite facilities (shower / bath and toilet). Rooms with a balcony give you a breathtaking view of the cathedral quarter. If you wish to stay for a longer time in our hotel, we can offer you a selection of apartments from 25 to 45 square meters floor size. On the on hand you have hotel service, on the other you have the use of a kitchenette, so that you can be independent and flexible.
The Dom Hotel will also spoil you because of its special location. It is totally central and at the same time peaceful. There are parking spaces available: You can leave your car in the hotel garage parking lot or internal courtyard. After all, you don't need your car if you wish to visit the Augsburg city cener. The city itself, with its Renaissance Town Hall, its pedestrian shopping zone with everything you need or the other sights worth seeing in Augsburg such as the "Puppenkiste" puppet theater, the Roman Museum ore famous Fuggerei are all within easy distance. The tram is only a few steps away from the Dom Hotel and the central station only a few minutes away on foot, both reached easily and quickly.
