[di più]Agia Fotini Nea Smyrni church was built in 1940 to a design by the Greek architect Lemiris. It stands on the site of an older wooden church that was destroyed by fire. This church was built by the immigrants of Izmir to commemorate their earlier church. Its interior is based on another church in Asia Minor and its bell tower, which was added later was paid for by wealthy locals and the Onassis foundation.
Agia Fotini Nea Smyrni church can be easily accessed by the local tram station that takes its name from the church (Nea Smyrni Agia Fotini / Plateia).
